Time-based liquidation marketplace

The price you want is only a matter of time.

Sellers set a clear-by date. Prices drop automatically until items move. Buy now, place a standing bid, or watch — and let the deadline do the work.

Sometimes called a Dutch auction, declining-price, or reverse auction — ClearByDate just makes it simple.

How it works

Three ways to win something. One deadline that decides it.

Buy now at the current price

Take the item off the market instantly. The price you see is what you pay.

Place a standing bid

Set your max. When the falling price reaches your number, the item is yours — automatically.

Watch and waitComing soon

Track items you like. We'll notify you on every drop and when bids change.

Proof of condition

Sellers record condition video in-app with timestamp, GPS and device hash — not just camera-roll uploads.

Verified pickup

Both parties confirm the handoff with a one-time QR. Optional GPS proximity for high-value items.

No card hold weeks in advance

Bids store a payment method only. We charge after pickup is confirmed — never before.

Why ClearByDate

A marketplace built to clear out — not to camp out.

Most places to sell your stuff turn you into a part-time storefront: relisting, replying, haggling. We took the opposite approach.

The price does the haggling

No lowball offers, no back-and-forth, no waiting on a reply. You set a starting price and a deadline — the price comes down on its own until the item sells.

Everything actually clears

Listings here don't drift for months and quietly go stale. A clear-by date gives every item a hard deadline to move, so browsing means real, time-bound deals — not digital clutter.

Fair by the rules, not by who messaged first

The first standing bid to meet the falling price wins, automatically. No side deals, no being ignored because someone offered a few dollars more off-platform.

Made for moving on, fast

Relocating, downsizing, or clearing a space? You're not trying to run a shop. Set the date and let momentum — not constant messaging — empty the room.

FAQ

Auctions, deadlines, and how it all works.

Is ClearByDate a Dutch auction?

Essentially, yes. ClearByDate runs on a declining-price model — also known as a Dutch auction, descending-price auction, or reverse auction. The seller sets a starting price and a clear-by date, and the price falls automatically over time until a buyer takes it or a standing bid wins.

How is it different from a regular (ascending) auction?

A traditional auction starts low and competing bids push the price up, often with last-second sniping. ClearByDate works the other way around: the price starts high and steadily drops, so there's no bidding war — the first buyer to accept the current price wins.

What is a standing bid?

Instead of watching the clock, you set the maximum you're willing to pay. The moment the falling price reaches your number, the item is yours automatically — no need to be online when it happens.

What kinds of sales is it for?

Time-bound liquidation of all kinds: moving and downsizing sales, estate sales, office and business closures — anytime you need things gone by a specific date instead of listed indefinitely.

Moving? Closing up? Downsizing? Set the deadline. Skip the haggling.

Average move sale clears $8,400 in 6 days on ClearByDate.
